Happy Birthday

Well, today is the day my life is over...I can't believe that my little guy is one year old. Seems like yesterday, Logan and I were at the Cheesecake Factory debating whether we should just go home or go back to the hospital. I think by choosing to go back to the hospital put me into labor even more because I was so mad they didn't admit me that my contractions started getting harder. THe second that little guy came out, he stole my heart and I will never be the same. I love everything think about him. He can make me smile and laugh like no one else and he brings a smile to my face just thinking about him. I never knew I could be so obsessed with someone. I never knew I could kiss and hug and whisper, "I love you so much" to someone all the time. Being a mom is the greatest gift I could have ever been given and I know I must have done something right to receive such a great and loving child such as Cache. He is so wonderful and I cannot wait to see who he will someday turn into...but I have a pretty good idea exactly what he will be like. For all those who have been around him know exactly what I am talking about. So raise your glasses to this guy, Cache Calkins and let out one big HAZAH for the greatest boy to have ever lived!
HAZZZZAAHHHH!
Some things Cache is doing or saying at one year(s) old:
1) He can say Dog
2) He can say Ball
3) He can say Cache
4) He can say Hello
5) He can walk and stand
6) He can bark like a dog
7) He can sign "more" and "all done"
8) He can point at what he wants
9) He can wave hello and goodbye
10) He can pull out all my pots and pans and not think twice about the mess he made
11) He climbs on EVERYTHING and makes it up there too (I found him on the table the other day)
12) He can pick his nose...or other's noses
13) He plays peek-aboo and yells out "Rarrrr"
14) He can also say "Yah" and "Owww"

He's pretty amazing and its fun to watch him absorb everything we say and do....but I guess we need to watch more closely what we say and do too now

Night at Papiloa

We went to Papiloa beach tonight and for those of you who watch LOST, this is the beach where they have their camp. It was such a beautiful sunset and we just kept thinking about how much we love it here. Sometimes I just want to spend the rest of my life here....

I Always Keep My Promises...

And here they are...Thank you to Jane for taking these photos! You are so talented! We had an awesome Birthday party for him last Monday. It was a great Birthday and the theme was yellow! Cache was so excited to eat his cake (which I made and am proud of...my first time using fondant) and he got some cute presents from his friends! Thanks Janelle, Logan, Katie and Jane for helping out! You made this first Birthday so exciting!

In Commission

I am back on track. I finally got a new computer and may I say I love it. She is b-e-a-utiful and I have never had such a fast computer before. Anyways, Cache is turning 1 on the 18th, but due to my friends being in town, we are going to have a birthday party for him on Monday!
My friend, Jane, is a graphic design major and she made some really awesome invites!
We are so excited to have a little brunch with some friends and celebrate Cache and him becoming the big 1! Such an awesome milestone. I will post pictures of his party...in the mean time, here are a few that are important to me!
Oh yeah, Photos by Jane!

My boy is Standing

(cache standing by himself)

So sorry for the lack of posts...in short, my computer is out of commission due to a cracked screen and a few tears shed...Jennilee, its going to be okay...

Anyways, a few new events in the Calkin's life:
1) We are moving...not from Hawaii...but to another apartment and we are super excited! We will miss the easy access to the beach and our wonderful neighbors, but necessity calls for a cheaper place and so we are responding back!
2) Cache is now standing and walking at a pace of maybe 2 steps each time he tries! We are so excited, even though this means he will be into EVERYTHING
3) Cache can now say: Mamma, Mom, Dadda, Ball, Cache, and Baba...he can also sign "more" and "all done" (I'm in the process of teaching him "sorry", "I love you" and "Thank you")
4) He currently has had 2 ear infections in the last month...those teeth especially make it sensitive
5) We have had a slew of visitors: Kasey, Jane, and now Janelle coming on Saturday, but it is so wonderful to be surrounded by wonderful people.

That's it for now, I will try and update more often. Thanks, if you actually read my blog (can't tell by the lack of comments), for being patient with me!
